Two PhD student positions are available in the areas of Biochemistry or bioinformatics in the general field of Endocrinology/metabolism and protein chemistry, at Pediatric Endocrinology, Department of Clinical Research, University of Bern, under the supervision of PD Dr. Amit V Pandey. The projects will combine genetics, biochemistry, molecular biology, protein chemistry and biophysical/crystallographic studies and will focus on the role steroidogenic cytochrome P450 proteins and P450 oxidoreductase in metabolism of salt sugar and sex steroids..

Education:

Students should have a diploma, master (MSc) or equivalent in biochemistry.

Previous experience in enzyme kinetics during masters/diploma work is required.

Applicants must be acceptable for registration as a PhD student at the University of Bern.

A good knowledge of written and spoken English is essential.
